I would like to take this time to speak against the abuse that a friend of mine experienced while being employed at the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital by both its Director of Risk Management & Patient Relations (DORMPR) & CEO.

The following day, the meeting took place, where the CEO and DORMPR wrongfully punished her for speaking against the abuse. In a nutshell, the CEO also THREATENED her "that if my friend spoke about their abusive actions, that she would make sure that employers in Red Lake would not hire her"- despite my friend being a great worker and kind person. The CEO continued to make unwelcome and harassing remarks, while following my friend as she left, claiming that the "hospital was her building " and that there was nothing wrong with stalking and following my friend and the union rep. while they were trying to relocate to a private place.

~This behavior by the CEO and DORMPR of the RLMCM Hospital is unacceptable and disgusting. No individual should ever have to go through what my friend did, nor should any individual be harassed because of speaking up or against an employer's wrongful actions. ~

Yesterday, my friend civilly brought up and spoke up about an issue/ shift request. She was answered back extremely rudely and was told that her written request was "inappropriate" and that "she was going to met with" by the DORMPR, who is also not certified for her position. After my friend replied that there was nothing inappropriate about the email, she was continually harassed by the DORMPR, and later the CEO. She was harassed upon coming into the hospital to complete her shift and was told that she needed to meet with them, "NOW". In her right, my friend refused to meet with either of them until she had a union rep. of her choice (which would have to wait until the following day) and wanted to continue working her shift unbothered. The CEO came and cornered my friend into the room that she was working in, making sure that no other witness was available and began to harass her. My friend calmly expressed that she had a right not to meet with them until she had the union rep. of her choice with her and that she just wanted to complete her shift unbothered. The CEO still continued to harass her telling my friend to "give the CEO her swipe card" and that "if she didn't meet with them now, that she would be sent home". The CEO physically violated her space and tried to reach into her scrub top pocket to grab her swipe card, even when she expressed that the CEO's actions were completely inappropriate and was deemed abuse. The CEO snarkily replied that, "she had good lawyers". Out of force and complete disgust, my friend left the building while the CEO continued the harassment and followed her around while making inappropriate comments.
